Aloe

Aloe is a genus containing over 400 species of flowering succulent plants. The genus is placed in the family Xanthorrhoeaceae, subfamily Asphodeloideae. Aloe is native to tropical and southern Africa, Madagascar, Jordan, the Arabian Peninsula, and various islands in the Indian Ocean. A few species have also become naturalized in other regions, like in the Mediterranean, India, Australia and North and South America).
